We understand that every client is different when it comes to how much interaction they would like to have with their photographer. It is very important to us to know your comfort level before hand. If you know that you are able to have fun and act naturally in front of a camera, we will let you run and rule the day. If you're unsure, and find out once you're in front of the camera that you have no idea what to do, we will be happy to step in and make you comfortable with suggestions and fun ideas that we know you'd be able to pull off naturally.
We do not work off of any pre-determined shot list since we feel that such a list is highly interruptive to the actual flow of events on the day of your wedding, and we prefer to document your wedding as it actually occurs. But we do love to see what type of shots you like in order to understand what your particular style is. Feel free to show us those ideas ahead of time so that we can capture your day in a way that is "perfectly you."

One of the most frequently asked questions we receive is what timeline we feel would be appropriate for a wedding. As photographers, the perfect schedule is determined by the sun. The hour before the sun sets is the golden hour for photography, and that is when we prefer to take all of the "formal" photographs - the family photos, the bridal party photos, and of course the photos of the bride & groom alone. We use that very fixed event to help determine the schedule of events, and we highly recommend that you do the same when determining your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception times.

Because the majority of our weddings are destination weddings, we know that the time you spend at your destination is going to be filled with events using up every second of the beautiful scenery. With that in mind, the perfect timeline events to be photographed usually goes something like this:
Rehearsal Dinner > Wedding Day > Day After Brunch > Day After Sunset Photoshoot
While you are undoubtly familiar with the other events, let me introduce you to one our favorite events of your wedding weekend: The Day After Sunset Photoshoot. This photoshoot allows our clients to spend less time taking formal photos on the actual wedding day and more time to spend with their guests. It allows us the time to take our clients to the beautiful out of the way places that would be impractical to go to on the wedding day. It also lets our bride feel comfortable doing things in her dress that she would be uncomfortable doing on the wedding day for fear of getting the dress dirty. Ultimately, the Day After Sunset Photoshoot gives everyone a chance to get the very best out of their destination wedding.
